The Dangers of Making the Baby Jesus a Mascot

December 24, 2017 Speaker: Gibson Largent Series: Single Sermons

Passage: Luke 1:5–2:52

If we're not careful Jesus can be lumped together with elf on the shelf, Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, and other mascots for the Christmas season. The bible presents Jesus in a radically different way than our culture celebrates at this time of year.

How did the first witnesses to the baby Jesus respond to his birth? This brief sermon looks at the difference between our cultural celebration of Christmas and the Bible's presentation of the coming of Jesus.
